White Water River Rafting  in Srinagar Kashmir is carried out on  two glacial rivers namely  Lidder River  Pahalgam in south Kashmir and on Sindh River at Wusun in west Kashmir. The main source of Lidder River is Kalohoi glacier and that of Sindh River is Thajwas glacier. So it is obvious that these two feasible rivers for rafting can be operational only during the warm conditions. There is no river rafting in Srinagar but at pahalgam and Soanamarg. The River rafting season in Kashmir  starts from first week of April  till ending September every year. Both the rivers for rafting in Kashmir are technical. which can be only feasible for rafting who are well trained in rafting along with rescue technique. But in order to facilitate rafting for  tourists JK tourism who know nothing about raftingh  has identified few spots on lidder river at Pahalgam and on Sindh river at Wusun. The two recognised spots for rafting on Lidder River are at Yaneer just 12 km before pahalgam and at Mandalan near dear park. The JK tourism has named these ride as joy ride of 3 km approximately. read more
